Sportcar Alfa Romeo GT went on sale in 2004. It was first introduced at the Geneva Motor Show, which was held in March 2003, and in January 2004, a 2-door sports coupe appeared on the Italian market. The Alfa Romeo GT was built on the Alfa Romeo 156 platform. Also, when building, the elements of the Alfa Romeo 147 design, such as the structures of the front and rear multi-link suspensions, were taken as the basis. The type of his body can be defined as a 2-door sports coupe-hatchback. GT is a front wheel drive car. The company Bertone worked on the exterior design of the car, which, in principle, explains the predominance of the external concept of the 147th series, rather than the 156th.
Recall that the design of the Alfa Romeo 156 worked by Alfa Centro Stile under the leadership of Walter de Silva, not Bertone. If you look at the car, its rather prominent outlines of the side surfaces and the rear end are immediately noticeable. Compared to the Alfa Romeo 156, the GT is a bit longer and lower. The wheelbase is 2596 mm, the length of the car 4489 mm, width - 1763 mm, height - 1362 mm. For the sports coupe, several engine options are offered. The top version is a 3.2-liter petrol V6 with 237 hp. The second power is a 2-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine producing 163 hp. with JTS direct injection system.
The least powerful engine is a 1.8-liter engine producing 138 hp. Also, it was not without a diesel option - a 1.9-liter diesel engine with a direct injection system JTDM, issuing 148 hp. Note that the diesel version in the configuration with a 6-speed gearbox has become the most popular due to its efficiency with its technical characteristics. One gas station is enough for almost 1000 km, with a gas tank volume of only 63 liters.
The choice of cars are equipped with a 5-speed or 6-speed manual gearbox, except for complete sets with a 1.8-liter gasoline engine (only a 5-speed gearbox is installed). The interior of the GT also has similarities with the Alfa Romeo 147. These include the design of the front panel, but the edging of the round instrument pointers and the central section of the panel has a dark silver color like in the GTA model. This design does not bother the driver's attention. Sitting in the driver's seat, it feels that everything is done for the convenience of the driver. The location of the steering wheel, pedals, control knobs - all this does not create any difficulties in managing.
The space behind allows you to sit comfortably in the rear seats, which are made on the same pattern as the front. However, if you push the front seats back as far as possible, the passenger sitting in the back seat will feel some constraint, both at the level of the legs and at the level of the head. In the Alfa Romeo GT provides a fairly roomy trunk volume of 320 liters.
In terms of practicality, it is not inferior to the luggage compartment of the sports wagon of the 156th series. In order to open the rear door of the cabin, pull the handle located on the side of the driver's seat. You can also use the unlock button on the remote control key.
Standard equipment includes: anti-lock braking system (ABS); emergency brake assist (Brake assist); electronic brake force distribution (EBD), driver and passenger airbags, side airbags, belt pretensioners; “Active” head restraints, attachments for child seats, electric front windows; heated mirrors; electric mirrors; climate control; Cruise control; on-board computer; remote opening of the trunk lid; headlight adjustment; power steering; central locking; immobilizer; electronic key identification system; audio preparation; CD player; alloy wheels; bumpers in body color.
Additional equipment includes: navigation system; Rain sensor; management of vehicle functions on the steering wheel; phone; automatic inclusion of headlights; parking sensors; adjustable driver and passenger seats in height; leather interior; xenon headlights; headlight washer; MP3 recorder, CD changer, amplifier and subwoofer. In 2006, Alfa Romeo introduced the Alfa Romeo GT JTDM 1.9 Q2 version. Q2 - new limited slip differential, designed to increase the active safety of the car.
The new Q2 differential is only equipped with models with a 150 hp JTDM engine, but it will soon be available on other versions of the model range. Alfa Romeo has developed a Q2 system to ensure maximum control of traction in any driving conditions, as in recent years, the torque of diesel engines transmitted to the wheels has increased significantly. The system is based on a mechanical Torsen differential with increased internal friction. The role of the differential is to distribute the pulling force between the front wheels depending on the position of the lever.
Combined with a unique independent front suspension arm, the system provides particularly effective dynamic control of the vehicle. In addition, the Q2 system reduces the effect of insufficient controllability of the car during acceleration and gives the car greater stability when braking. In the same year, Alfa Romeo introduced the limited edition Alfa Romeo GT BlackLine. The new series differs only in a spectacular appearance: the body is painted in black metallic, inserts on the side mirrors, chrome exhaust and exclusive 18-inch wheels.
The interior is trimmed in black leather, steering wheel with red stitching, aluminum sports pedals and a gear shift lever. The cabin is installed Bose audio. The two engines offered for this version remain intact.
