The salon greets the driver and passengers with a hard budget plastic, but with a pleasant texture and original combinations (stylish inserts on the front panel, center console and door cards), cloth upholstery, minor flaws in ergonomics and interior design. The steering wheel with three spokes is adjustable only in height. Driver and front passenger seat with a flat pillow, but the back with bright lateral support. Under the hood is a Brilliance V5 1.6-liter engine producing 110 hp, delivering 151 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
The 4A92S engine is the fruit of the collaboration of Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi and Chrysler. Among its features are an aluminum cylinder block weighing 19.8 kg, a gas distribution mechanism with a variable valve timing system (MIVEC — developed by Mitsubishi), and a fuel injection system developed by Bosch in cooperation with SHANHAI. The engine is paired with both a 5-speed manual gearbox (JW5F18C), manufactured by Guanzhou Automotive Component Co., based on a Toyota C50 box, and with a 5-speed automatic, 5F16S, developed by the Korean Hyundai-Powertech Corporation, which used the Mitsubishi design basis.
Acceleration to 100 km / h takes the car with the "mechanics" 11.9 seconds (13, 9 with "automatic"). The maximum speed is 178 km / h. Plus, the crossover is very economical, because according to the manufacturer it consumes in a mixed drive mode 7.2 liters with an automatic gearbox and 6.9 liters with mechanics. As for the Brilliance V5 suspension, the front is an independent spring type MacPherson with anti-roll bars, and the rear is a semi-dependent spring (beam) with anti-roll bar. The steering mechanism is equipped with eletroservrivodom.
According to the results of the Chinese crash tests C-NCAP on the front and side impact, Brilliance V5 received the highest rating - 5 stars. Brilliance V5 will compete with such models as Lifan X60, Chery Tiggo, Geely Emgrand X7 and Haima 7.
