The F6 sedan is being presented by the manufacturer as a business class car. It can be safely called the flagship BYD. The debut took place at the Shanghai Auto Show in 2007. When designing this model, the experience of operating BYD machines around the world was taken into account. At the moment it is the largest (length - 4850 mm, width - 1822 mm, wheelbase - 2740 mm) representative of the entire model line of the company.
The exterior of the body is the result of the work of its own design studio. F6 looks attractive and modern. Salon - spacious and easily accommodates five people. Finishing materials are not of the highest quality, however, all panels are neatly fitted. The seats are comfortable enough. Adjust the driver's seat have a small range. Many modern options provide comfort even on a long trip. The list of standard equipment is impressive: there are four airbags, and an on-board computer with a large display, and separate climate control, electric mirrors and seats, heating.
For an extra charge is proposed electric front seats, parking radar, navigation system with touch screen, etc. The base model is equipped with a 2.0-liter engine producing 140 hp. with the emission of exhaust gases EURO III (allegedly self-developed BYD).
The power unit is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The top version is equipped with a 2.4-liter engine from 165 hp from Mitsubishi. with electronic valve timing control system MIVEC. This motor is aggregated with a 4-speed automatic gearbox with manual shift mode. Perhaps it is impossible to call BYD F6 fast and dynamic: it is a car for a calm and measured ride.
The suspension (double-lever front and multi-link rear) conscientiously work out all the bumps and potholes. Disc brakes are quite informative. The equipment includes ABS and EBD. The volume of the trunk is 480 liters. Under the hardboard raised floor around a full-size spare wheel a convenient organizer is arranged.
