Model Orion was introduced in 1983. The car was a sedan with a three-volume body. He had a panoramic rear window and a trunk of 450 liters. It differed from the Escort III not only in its body, but also in the design of its front end, as well as in its higher price.
In the role of power units were petrol engines of the OHV Kent and CVH families with volumes ranging from 1.1 to 1.6 liters (from 50 to 97 hp) and diesel engines 1.6 / 1.8 liters. Orion was offered in several trim levels - from simple basic to luxury Ghia. A new generation of Orion came in 1990. Comfortable velor interior, fairly high-quality assembly and decoration. The interior design is calm and pretty cute. The seats are comfortable, tough and not giving to get tired on a long journey.
There is enough space, but the trunk is small, but if necessary, you can fold the rear seats, while the luggage compartment becomes quite impressive. The gamma of engines is represented by 1.3 / 1.4 liters of petrol units, which are rather modest in power, but at the same time quite voracious (about 9 liters per 100 km).
As well as 1.6 / 1.8 liters, plus a diesel engine of 1.8 liters. In general, Ford Orion of this generation is quite reliable and reasonably comfortable means of transportation, having one important advantage in its assets - low cost.
