The premiere show of the Chinese crossover Great Wall Hover H8 was held in April 2013 at the Shanghai Auto Show. In Russia, sales started in the summer of 2014. It is noteworthy that in China and a number of countries in Asia and Africa the car is sold under the name Haval H8. The length of the Great Wall Hover H8 body is 4806 mm, while the wheelbase accounts for 2915 mm, the crossover width is limited to 1975 mm, and the height does not exceed 1794 mm. The height of the ground clearance is 197 mm in rear-wheel drive versions and 210 mm in all-wheel drive versions.
With standard factory-installed tires 235/60 R18, the front wheel track is 1647 mm and the rear wheel track is 1649 mm. According to representatives of the company Great Wall, the car is built on a completely new platform, body parts are made with the wide use of durable and high-strength steel, and laser is used to weld them. Hover H8 turned out to be stylish and modern, with some degree of originality. In the exterior, you can see the notes of European and Japanese competitors, but still we must admit that there is no direct copying of other people's design ideas.

Salon Hover H8 is designed for five passengers and offers a large amount of free space on both rows of seats, comfortable fit, high-quality finish and well-thought-out ergonomics, especially in the driver's seat, which is provided with maximum comfort and ease of access to controls. The basic modification of the crossover offers only rear-wheel drive, and for an extra charge or in top-end equipment, the car is equipped with an intelligent all-wheel drive TOD system that connects the front axle. The TOD system analyzes data from a variety of sensors in real time, providing almost instantaneous transmission of thrust to all four wheels at the moment when the traffic situation requires it. In addition, the car received the NIVOMAT system, which automatically maintains the height of the crossover body at a given level, even under the condition of full load.
The suspension of the crossover is completely independent: on the double wishbone at the front and at the base of the multi-link design at the back. On all wheels, the manufacturer uses reinforced disc brakes (ventilated at the front).
