NISSAN Skyline / Skyline GT-R - models of cars with a longitudinal engine, rear or all-wheel drive. Available with sedan and coupe. For the first time, the Skyline model was shown in 1957. But the real story began as early as the mid-1980s - 86–88, with the R31 body. It was on these machines that the RB20DE engines first appeared - a 2-liter engine with two overhead camshafts with a capacity of 155 hp, as well as an RB20DET - a turbine was also added and the power increased to 215 hp.
There were versions with 1.8-liter carburetor engines. There were two-door sports coupe GTS-R. The 8th generation of Skyline appeared in 1989 and went into a series in the back with the designation R32. This generation Skyline 89-93 gg turned out more compact and sporty. In May 1989, the main modifications of the model were released: GXI - 4-door sedan with 1.8-liter gasoline engine, GTE - 4-door sedan with 2-liter gasoline SOHC, GTS - 4-door sedan and and 2-door coupe with 2 liter DOHC petrol, The GTS-t is a 4-door sedan and a 2-door coupe with a 2-liter DOHC petrol and a turbine. This turbo version of the GTS-t had 215 hp under the hood.
and, with a comparatively small weight of 1260 kg, “shot” up to a hundred in 6 seconds. Add here shock absorbers with electronically adjustable stiffness, low-profile tires 205/55 R16 - and you get a rear-wheel drive sports car with excellent handling and dynamics. On the modification of the GTS system was implemented 4WS under the brand name Super HICAS. The car had an excellent chassis: for the first time a multi-link rear suspension was used, and the newest double-lever front. On August 21, 1989, two of the most interesting modifications debuted: the GTS-4 and the GT-R supercar - a sporty modification, the basic model for the rally.
Both were equipped with a 4WD system under the brand name ATTESA E-TS with electronically controlled torque distribution along 100/0 axes - i.e. basically, the car remained rear-wheel drive, and when the drive wheels slipped, up to 50% of the time was transferred to the front axle. It was implemented through multi-plate clutch transfer case. In the rear axle installed limited slip differential (LSD), and, of course, ABS. Both cars were also fully managed (Super HICAS) and turbocharged. The GTS-4 was a development of the GTS-t with the same 2-liter engine with a turbine plus 4WD, but the GT-R was equipped with a brand new 2.6-liter petrol six and developed 280 official forces.
Some sources claim that this motor actually had a power of 310-315 hp. (remember that in Japan there is a limitation on the engine power of production cars - 280 hp, so that none of the manufacturers will officially declare that this threshold has been exceeded). Low-key, although stylish, the design did not particularly highlight this car in the stream. But on the Japanese roads she had no competitors.
Just as in the national ring championship JGTC (All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship). Two years later, in August 1991, the last modification appeared - the GTS25, equipped with the latest for the time 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated DOHC engine. In all other respects, it corresponded to the GTS modification. Four years later, in August 1993, the next 9th generation Skyline debuted in the back of the R33.
However, the R32 GT-R continued to be produced for more than a year, in parallel with the other modifications of the R33, and on November 7, 1994 the last, 43934th, R32 GT-R off the assembly line. After two months of silence, on January 6, 1995, his successor appeared - the R33 GT-R ... The GTS25t equipment came out - a 2.5-liter engine with a turbine - not yet GTR, but apart from him, on the road, this car will not yield to anyone. GTS-4 instead of a 2-liter turbo engine purchased 2.5 liters, but without a turbine. In May 1998, the 10th generation of Skyline R34 cars was introduced. Skyline GT-R R34 is a GT class coupe, which is the most “tuned” car in Japan.
2.6 liters, two turbines and “factory” 280 hp, which easily turn into 650 hp Speed and control make this car one of the best in its class. In the summer of 2001, Nissan officially unveiled a completely new generation of Skyline R35 sedans. The car is built on a new increased platform, received a new body: a stylish look, unusual front and rear lights immediately attract attention to this car. The generation of the new model is on the market immediately in seven in the basic versions, all of them with rear wheel drive.
It includes 300GT modifications with a 3.0 liter V6 (5-automatic transmission), 250GT and 250GTe with a 2.5 liter V6 (4-automatic transmission), as well as basic ones, such as standard, luxury and sports, which are typical for the local market. The first engine has a capacity of 256 horsepower, and the second - 212 horsepower. The new Nissan Skyline coupe was created in the new Nissan design style.
The car is similar to the Nissan Z350, but it is more muscular. Skyline 300GT divided the rear-wheel drive and the platform with a new model Z. The picture is complemented by an aluminum multi-link suspension and a classic body. Glasses rise and fall easily and silently. The doors close with a pleasant muffled sound and effortlessly.
Everything is perfectly twisted, fitted, adjusted to the millimeter. The interior design compares favorably with previous versions of Skyline, the colors have become nicer, the trim is better, the style is more classic. Due to the location of the engine and the fact that with a long wheelbase, the body overhangs are very small on both sides - the interior becomes very spacious.
All seats recline back - both front and rear - and are regulated by many parameters, and the headrests and armrests are made so that you don’t remember their existence at all, because you don’t feel the slightest discomfort. Low and wide dashboard is made without any frills and quite comfortable. From the "filling", which makes staying in the car more comfortable, Skyline has a Bose 200W audio system for discs and a seven-speaker radio and satellite navigation system with a DVD and a small LCD monitor that opens in the center console.
The 24-valve 6-cylinder V6 engine with direct injection, with a capacity of 256 horses, which is equipped with Skyline 300GT - one of the best units in the world today. It is lighter, smaller and more environmentally friendly than the classic Skyline motor, and accelerates from a standstill to 100 km per hour in less than 7 seconds. In Japan, the maximum permissible speed is 180 km / h, but on the road, without any restrictions, this car can easily reach speeds of up to 225 kilometers per hour, and it will not be difficult for even a very experienced driver to drive it.
The engine runs quietly, the car itself is very maneuverable, despite the size, and turns on a small space are easier than expected. The 5-speed dual-mode gearbox gently shifts from one mode to another. As for safety, Nissan specialists implemented several new ideas - for example, they made the world's first active seat cushion. In the case of a strong frontal collision, the beam in the front seat moves forward to make it easier for you to stay in the seat. Together with seat belts and airbags, this significantly reduces the risk of serious injury in an accident.
There is also a device that releases the engine in the event of a collision and a brake pedal that does not go backward if released by chance. Head curtain airbags are available as an option, and Brake Assist and EBD systems are standard. Nissan is finishing work on the newest generation of the popular Nissan Skyline GT-R sports coupe, code-named R35. The car will retain all the main features of the current model, but will receive a seriously redesigned technical stuffing. The appearance of the future Nissan Skyline GT-R is made in an aggressive style. The new model will not change the shape of the rear fenders and front spoilers.
The most interesting innovations will be hidden under the car body. Serious changes will undergo the power unit of the future Nissan Skyline GT-R. Considered options for installing one of the two engines: either a 3.5-liter V8 or V6 of 3.3 liters with two turbochargers. In any case, the engine installed on the Skyline GT-R, will develop a capacity of more than 350 horsepower. Currently, the more realistic option is exactly 3, 3-liter engine, which was first introduced on the new coupe Nissan Z Car at the Detroit auto show.
The system of all-wheel drive, which is equipped with the Nissan Skyline GT-R, and the suspension, and a six-speed manual gearbox that automatically redistributes the torque between the axles, will also undergo major changes.
