The Subaru Traviq is a 7-seater minivan, introduced by the Japanese car company Subaru in 2001. This model is a joint project of Subaru and General Motors, based on the Opel Zafira minivan. It is worth noting that this is the first model of this class in the history of Subaru.
Subaru Traviq is assembled at General Motors, which is located in Thailand. The design of the Subaru Traviq was also borrowed from a German counterpart. The wheelbase of the car is 2,695 mm, length - 4,315 mm, width - 1,740 mm, and height - 1,630 mm. Under the hood of the car Subaru Traviq was located transversely four-cylinder 16-valve DOHC engine with a capacity of 2.2 liters and a power of 147 hp. at 5800 rpm As for the transmission, there was installed a 4-speed automatic transmission. The automatic transmission had 3 operating modes: normal, active and snow mode, intended for driving in winter. Also, the “automaton” also had an adaptation function.
This function adjusts the switching time depending on driving conditions. In other words, the gearbox seems to be adjusted to the fact that the driver can sometimes drive a car with excessive nervousness. In addition, when the vehicle is stopped, the gearbox automatically switches to neutral when the D position has been switched on. This function is provided in order to prevent excessive fuel consumption, as well as to reduce vibration. And this device operates completely independently. The maximum speed of the car was 180 km / h, and acceleration to 100 km / h took only 11 seconds.
The braking system of the car included ventilated disc brakes at the front and simple disc brakes at the back. Also, the Traviq model was equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS). The suspension of the Subaru Traviq car, developed by the Subaru company itself, is quite tough, since it was obviously intended to be used at full load, and this model had a payload capacity of 540 kg.
Subaru Traviq's curb weight was 1,460 kg. However, it is impossible not to note the sportiness of the suspension and ease of driving, which is typical of the Subaru brand. The interior of the car Subaru Traviq was very spacious and, not least, versatile to use. Inside there were three rows of seats. Second-row seats had the same spaciousness as in a regular passenger car. Third-row chairs, when they are not needed, can be completely hidden in the floor of the cabin.
We can not say that they seem comfortable, if they have to take two adult passengers. But this is only if they have to spend more or less long time in them. In October 2002, the Subaru Traviq car was subjected to a small upgrade. In addition to the basic model, the manufacturer launched into production two more modifications under the markings S and SL. Traviq SL was equipped with 16-inch wheels and a suspension of the active type. The body was supplemented with the same parts that improve aerodynamics, which were used in the S. equipment.
Other components include sports seats, the system for automatically maintaining the distance to the car in front (Cruise Control), Premium class audio system with 8 speakers, side airbags for the front seats. , adjustable backrest headrests. As additional options, the manufacturer offered: leather upholstery and sunroof with electric drive.
